November 2, 2009: Now comes the end of our season woodcock hunting but also the end of our season.
We've had this year a record of migration on the Gaspe Peninsula. The most difficult hunt was during the last week of September and the first few days of October.
Indeed with the warm weather of early season this delayed migration.
Our biggest day migration period was 52 birds which is our record! But we also had regular days between 30 & 40 birds.
For those wishing to renew their experience of woodcock hunting or for those wishing to explore this type of hunting we invite you to make your reservations for the 2010 season now, places are limited.
October 2, 2009: Our fishing season for salmon is already finished and we must think of preparing the season 2010.
The 2009 season has been excellent, our best year with a record of large salmon on the Bonaventure River.
The water level has never been too high but enough to raise fresh salmon all season.
The most difficult fishing was during the big entry from early July when the full moon rose salmon but took hardly flies.
We did not have records of weight this season but several salmon between 20 and 25 pounds were caught.
Our biggest fishing before noon was 5 salmon caught and released on the Bonaventure and the biggest day was 8 salmon caught and released also on the Bonaventure (record broken, because the previous record was 7 salmon a day on Little River Cascapédia).
For those wishing to renew their experience of fishing for salmon or for those wishing to explore this type of fishing we invite you to make your reservations now.
In fact this will make it easier to fish areas that you particularly liked or get more beautiful and productive fishing areas but also to choose the best dates for fishing!
